Have you ever heard the saying “success is a marathon, not a sprint”? Well, let me tell you, it’s true. The path to success is often a long and tedious one, filled with monotonous tasks and seemingly endless toil. But, trust me when I say, it’s worth it.
You see, the thing about success is that it’s not always glamorous. In fact, it’s often quite the opposite. It’s the daily grind, the small steps taken consistently over time, that lead to big wins. And, let me tell you, it can be boring. You may find yourself crying and wanting to give up, but that’s when you have to remember the end goal. If you want to reach your goal, you have to keep working towards it.
Now, I know it may be hard to believe, but even the most successful people in the world have gone through this boring path to success. Take for example, the founders of Swiggy. They didn’t start out as a successful food delivery company, they started out as a small team working on an idea. They had to put in long hours and make countless mundane decisions, but they kept at it. And, now look at them, they’ve revolutionized the way we order food in India.
Or, think about the inventors of electricity. They didn’t just wake up one day with the idea fully formed, they had to put in countless hours of research and experimentation. And, let me tell you, it must have not been exciting for them. But, they kept at it. And, now we have the luxury of flipping a switch and having light at our fingertips.
Another personal example that I can give that has happened recently is about my friend Bapi who is a perfect example of the boring path to success. He used to work as a digital marketer for 4 years, but he always had a passion for software engineering. Despite the fact that he had no prior experience in this field, Bapi was determined to pursue his dream. He took a leap of faith and started from scratch, educating himself in the basics of software engineering. He didn’t know the ‘C’ of coding before starting.
The journey was not easy for Bapi. He had to put in long hours of hard work and determination to get where he is today. He spent 10 hours every day studying python, brushing up his coding skills, and perfecting his knowledge in the field. The criticism that he faced was overwhelming, but he didn’t let that get in the way of his goal.
It took Bapi 1.8 years of self-educating, but ultimately, it paid off. His routine was the same for this tenure – wake up in the morning, travel to the office, work as a digital marketer, last 2 hours in the office learn coding from office developers, travel back home, learn to code, sleep and then repeat the same next day. But all his boring life of him (which he always used to say) finally paid off. If he wanted he would have been happy with the high-paying digital marketing job. But… his success in life is coding.
He was officially hired as a python developer in his company, and his hard work and determination finally paid off. Despite all the obstacles, Bapi never gave up, and his unwavering commitment to his goal made him a success.
Bapi’s story is a perfect example of the boring path to success which I have seen throughout. His journey was filled with challenges, but he never let that deter him from reaching his goal. His dedication and hard work paid off in the end, and he is now a successful software engineer. His story is an inspiration to us all and a reminder that success takes time and effort, but it is worth it in the end.
You see, very smart people have made this world outstanding. They’ve made life easy for us, but they didn’t do it by sitting around and waiting for inspiration to strike. They did it by consistently working towards their goals, even when it was boring.
And, that’s the key. The one common thing among successful people is that they kept doing what they needed to do every day. It may be boring, but that’s the way it is. You won’t reach your destination if you give up.
So, next time you find yourself crying and wanting to give up, remember that the boring path to success is the only way to get there. Keep pushing through, even when it’s hard. And, remember that even the most successful people in the world have gone through this.
Wrapping up
Success is not a glamorous journey; it’s a marathon, not a sprint. It’s filled with monotonous tasks and seemingly endless toil. But, trust me when I say, it’s worth it. Keep pushing through, even when it’s hard. And, remember that even the most successful people in the world have gone through this. Just relax, have some patience and keep doing it.
